On Saturday, the two players exchanged words and banter, with Nurkic saying Green didn’t learn anything from his suspension.

“It’s sad. He didn’t learn anything,” Nurk said. “It’s just a matter of time. He’s going to knock someone else out again. I take back what I said. He doesn’t deserve a chance.”

Nurkic explained what he felt Green did during the game to show him that he didn’t learn after the suspension.

“All kinds of moves, try to hit people. Things he shouldn’t do,” Nurkic told reporters.

Nurkic gave Green a “too short” gesture after he scored in the third quarter, two minutes later Green returned the favor.

When told about Nurkic’s postgame comments, Green took a few seconds before responding.

“I thought I was pretty good tonight, honestly,” Green said. “He tried to get into my head, and it didn’t work. If he wants me to be as quiet as he is, I’m never going to do it. Quiet people don’t win.

“Yeah, I thought I was pretty good tonight. So, yeah. He can stay on the same horse he’s been on, he can ride the same horse– out of here. Because this job Not doing it.”

Green finished the night with 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

“He’s given us a lift every game he’s been back,” Curry said, according to ESPN. “He anchors our defense, obviously, but you can talk about his defense every game. What he did tonight offensively, especially Fourth quarter… It gave us a great energy to feel that competitive spirit that you need to win a game like tonight, to make the moment come.”

“Draymond knows how to walk the line he needs to walk,” he added. “This is probably the best game you’ve ever seen.”
